Flintstones Halloween Costumes

If you're looking for a recognizable and iconic costume idea, then the Flintstones seems like an obvious choice. I used to be obsessed with The Flintstones, when I was younger. I used to draw Fred all the time!

Now, I'm older, the option to dress up this Halloween as one of the Flintstones, and particularly, Fred...makes me smile.

I wanted to share all the options with you, so you too, can be a Flintstone from Bedrock...the whole family can dress up...even the dog!

Of course, we all know about the Hanna Barbera creation that is The Flintstones, with their hugely iconic theme tune, that probably many a person can hum on demand, but did you know that there is another cartoon family hot on the heels of the Flints...they are the Croods!

Dreamworks animation created The Croods for cinema release in 2013, and feature a caveman family, with a Dad, Mother, 2 teenage children, 1 baby, and a Grandmother - so not a million miles away from the Flintstone set up.

One of the key differences were that The Flintstones was set in today's world, but with a caveman twist - what I mean by that, is that they had telephones, which were sea shells. They had cars, that needed to be powered by foot...they also had garbage disposals, that were invariably some sort of critter. However, the Croods, don't have those things. They are more or a less a family living in pre-historic times.

Either way, the days of cave paintings and mammoth give a lot of intrigue, to a lot of people - so fans of that age in time, can feel a comic, cartoony comfort with the lovable Flintstones, and also the equally lovely Croods!
