The Airport Code Game

Updated on November 12, 2014

The Airport Code Game - a fun Word game that a friend and I created!

Hello and welcome to my exciting Word Game based around ever fanatical Airport Codes. I love word games and I love airports, so the two go hand in hand, very nicely!

I love playing this game with my friends, especially if we're traveling somewhere. Often we can spend what feels like hours, staring at the same set of letters (or codes from memory) waiting until we spot a word.

If you have time on your hands, try this fun word game and see what you come up with.

Incase you didn't know, each Airport has a unique 3 letter code (for example, London Heathrow is LHR). These codes can be used to make words. Hey presto! That's the game!

The Rules, to the Airport Word Game

Very simply - all you have to do is make words out of Airport Codes.

You can not mix up the order of letters in a code.

When you play this word game yourself, it's a good idea to set yourself limits of the airport codes you can use. There are hundreds of Airport codes in the world, so maybe you can divide them up by country, or most popular airports...as you can see, here I'm using Airports that are found in the UK, and that's quite a lot to be getting on with. Of course, you would have a much bigger playing field if you were using Airport codes of USA! Play how you want, just have fun with this word game!

Keeping Score:

3 Letter word = 1 point

6 Letter words from one list = 2 points

9 Letter words from one list = 4 points

12 Letter words from one list = 8 points

etc and so forth...

I will be updating this lens to include different rounds - you can play in any round that you like :)
